German champions Bayern Munich have sold the last available share package in FC Bayern München AG, the company that runs the professional club, to Viessmann Generations Group. The club announced the agreement on 22 October 2026 without disclosing a fee. According to City AM and Turkish outlet Habertürk, which cited Sky Sports Germany, the deal is worth around €250m.
The sale was structured as a capital increase, leaving Viessmann Generations Group with a 6.7% stake. Sporx reported that the package was originally defined as 5% and grew to 6.7% because new shares were issued. The Munich-based family office becomes Bayern's fourth minority shareholder alongside Adidas, Audi and Allianz.
How has Bayern Munich's ownership changed?
Bayern Munich's statutes require the members' association, FC Bayern München e.V., to keep at least 70% of the football company, and German rules require clubs to be majority-owned by their members. City AM reported that the association, which has more than 300,000 members, saw its stake fall from 75% to that 70% floor, while Adidas, Audi and Allianz were each diluted from 8.3% to 7.8%. With the 30% reserved for corporate partners now fully allocated, Sporx reported that no further share sale is planned.

How much is Bayern Munich worth?
Reports differ on Bayern Munich's valuation. Bloomberg valued the club at $4.5bn. City AM calculated an implied valuation of €3.7bn, based on €250m buying 6.7%, and described it as a record for German football and about four times the club's 2024-25 revenue of €978m. Sporx instead treated the fee as payment for a 5% stake and reported a €5bn valuation. The gap comes down to whether the calculation uses the nominal 5% package or the 6.7% holding after the capital increase.
Bayern's value has climbed sharply since its earlier deals. According to City AM, Allianz paid €110m for its stake in 2014, which valued the club at €1.3bn. Sporx recalled that Adidas joined the shareholders in 2002 for €77m.
